DATSYS FORMS ALLIANCE WITH PARAMOUNT TECHNOLOGIES: ELECTRONIC PROCUREMENT SUITE THAT INTEGRATES WITH GREAT PLAINS

Marlborough, MA – April 15, 2004 – DataSys Corporation and Paramount Technologies, Inc. have formed a working partnership that will allow DataSys to offer its customer a world-class electronic procurement system that integrates with Great Plains.

Paramount Technologies' WorkPlace eProcurement for Microsoft Great Plains includes the following components: WorkPlace Requisition, WorkPlace Receiving, WorkPlace Request For Quote, WorkPlace Vendor Contract and WorkPlace Budget. eProcurement provides comprehensive and complete Web-based capabilities for the enterprise, such as employee desktop requisitioning, flexible e-mail based approval, desktop receiving, request for quote, vendor contracts, powerful budgeting and automatic purchase order creation.

Foy Mainor of Paramount explains, "WorkPlace eProcurement supports both production and non-production purchasing environments. The system is readily accessible from an employee's desktop through a browser-based interface, empowering employees and buyers to make better buying decisions and enabling an organization to control and leverage internal buying behavior." Mainor continues, "We value our relationship with DataSys Corporation. Our combined expertise, and the ease of integrating eProcurement with Great Plains, means that we can now meet the needs of customers who want a strong accounting program and a fully automated procurement system."

"The Paramount eProcurement product is the best we've seen," says DataSys President Lisa Daigle. "The functionality is unsurpassed. We can now offer a better solution to a host of customers in several industries who will benefit from an integrated accounting/procurement system. When Paramount developed their software, they really did their homework. The result is a customer-focused program that goes well beyond electronic requisitioning. Receiving, quotations, contracts, budgets - eProcurement does it all. And on top of that, the collaboration with the people of Paramount has been a pleasure."

DataSys and Paramount first collaborated on an integrated Great Plains/Paramount system for a life sciences company. Biotech and pharmaceutical companies in the product development phase are often bogged down by the overall procurement process. This includes such considerations as order consolidation and tracking, authorizations at various levels, negotiating contracts with vendors, logging materials received, and of course, operating within a strict budget. For these companies, the cost of an automated requisitioning system is more than offset by the time and money saved. For example, the critical aspects of the procurement process can be closely monitored without adding administrative staff.

"Basically," says DataSys' Daigle, "any company with a purchasing department is a candidate for eProcurement. We're very selective about third party products. We aligned with Paramount because they meet our high standards of excellence."
